(
About the author)

Robbie Greene, 17, bored and rebellious, doesn’t believe in ghosts. Especially not the ghosts of a First World War patrol, killed in action. But they believe in him. And they need him to guide them home, so they can say their goodbyes to loved ones.
When their leader, the charismatic and austere Sergeant Stone, finally manages to convince Robbie that they are real, and that they were mistakenly listed as deserters, he discovers some other things he didn’t know.
In helping the ghosts out of limbo and back to their final resting places, Robbie learns the true meaning of loss and sacrifice - and of doing the right thing, no matter what the cost.
