Just over 50 years ago, the start of Washington's UFO shows began in earnest. Seven unidentified blips were seen on the radar screens at Washington National Airport in one day, according to a 1952 Washington Post story.
Another story in the Post, written a few years ago, recapped the 50th anniversary of the event that some had called an "armada" of flying saucers. Ironically, the recap was written about five days before the city had another visit a little over two years ago in 2002. Did the ETs read the article and come here to celebrate the anniversary? Tongue-in-cheek, but a thought.
Another thought. Is it not ironic that the movie entitled The Day the Earth Stood Still, came out in 1952, the same year the seven saucers allegedly flew over the nation's capitol. And the setting for the movie? Washington D. C. Maybe they came by to see the movie. We had drive-in theatres at the time. Think about that.
That term saucer, by the way, was used in the "old days" because so many people described them as "saucer-shaped." We still hear about sightings of saucer-shaped flying objects, but also of disks, triangles, octagons and other shapes. Does this mean that like the Ford automobile, which was once a Model-T and now has blossomed into a Mustang, alien civilizations have changed the style lines of UFOs as their technology progressed? Seriously, "they" must move forward in their spaceship designs and engines just as we have in the design of automobiles, trucks, and aircraft.
However, some of those individuals who allegedly have been abducted, describe ETs differently; there are gray people and people with light blue skin tones, Cyclops and many others. It follows, then, that there may be many different intelligent life forms out there who have their own way of traveling between our planet and theirs. Thus, the diversity in types of space ships.
If you study UFO history, you will find the beginning of that history may start in the Bible report where it is written that Ezekiel saw what could have been a UFO. That was sometime around 600 BC.
And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire enfolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. (Ezek. 1:4)
That's very dramatic stuff, yes?
Looking back through various databases now on the Internet, I noted that UFO sightings were rare in early times, or not reported as frequently as recent times. Increases in the number of reports occurred at the start of World War II. It seems to be generally agreed upon that the start of the modern UFO era began in 1947. Incidentally, I found no mention of any UFO sighting for that year in the Washington area, although there were many supposed sightings elsewhere in the nation.
One does have to consider that as the earth's population increased, there were more people to make the reports. Also communications' advancements made reports easier to disseminate. It appears, then, that more UFOs did not simply visit the earth—instead, more and more were reported when they were spotted by more people and reported in the media.
This UFO that visited the Washington, D.C. area a few years ago was not part of an "armada," but seemingly all alone, although there was speculation that there could have been two sightings within the same hour in the same part of Washington's southern skies. It was a night visitor, but the radar system that protects this part of the U.S., and on-duty ground crews, caught the presence of the "tourist" and fighter jets were scrambled. I witnessed the chase that followed.
In some accounts of UFO witnesses, seemingly impossible maneuvers such as 90-degree turns, rapid straight-up climbs into the sky, and other incredible movements are described. Some ships, they say, appear and disappear and some change colors. If those accounts of fantastic changes in course, color and shape gets your attention, then you should not be disappointed with my story. I witnessed a startling move by the ship that could not possibly be done by any known earth-made aircraft—at least not at speeds being flown by the pursuing F-16 fighters.
