WHY ELECTRONIC BOOKS?

The doorway to publishing is now open for new authors of all ages and backgrounds. Quality still is an important factor. Inexpensive does not mean cheap. Quality is at the top of the list for publishing an e-book. As a writer, you have more freedom to express yourself and delve into uncharted waters. If accepted for publication, your manuscript may be published in a very short time and the world is your marketplace. You can purchase an e-book seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day and not have to wait for shipping.

Books in electronic format make reading fun again. You can take your e-book reading device on the bus, ferry, train, plane or car. You can be at the beach and read from a device that fits in your hand and stores ten or twenty different volumes from which you can choose. On some devices, you can even store upwards of sixty e-books! Awesome.

True, there are currently a few drawbacks to e-publishing. It is still an emerging industry. There are kinks that need to be worked out. However, these do not diminish the possibilities for this new way of reading. Just think ahead to maybe five or seven years from now -- kids will be using these devices to read their assigned books!
